Update
Last February I posted a Call to Action about a ridiculous "shot" received by "Wes" for "Possession of an unauthorized item" for some books and magazines he received in the mail.
The "shot" by itself was total bullshit, but, the Psychology Dept. has recently informed Wes that because of this, he is being placed on a CMP (Correctional Management Plan (Note: I may have called it a "criminal" plan last time, but it is correctional)).
On paper, a CMP sounds reasonable and includes many sexual pictures that no one should have. The reality is quite different.
A CMP is abused by Psychology to justify their jobs. It places overbroad restrictions on what an inmate can read (e.g. many celebrity magazines like "People", etc.) and inmates can-and-will receive an incident report for possession of these common items which come in the mail.
Inmates under a CMP are subject to increased searches by COs - usually ordered by Psychology. This is really an excuse for harassment.
Wes's CMP has been authorized by "Dr." Magazine (Yes, that's her real name).
As I said, Psychology abuses their position in order to justify their jobs by harassing inmates for ridiculous items such as Sally Fields' memoir or "traveler" magazine, in Wes's case.
This needs to stop.
I urge you all to contact your Congressman and/or Director Carvajal of the BOP and demand that this ridiculous harassment be stopped.
