SOMEWHAT INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT PRISON

1.) When you first get to prison, beware of the first guy who comes up to talk to you. This guy wants something and, by being new, you are probably IT.

2.) You will never know the condition of someone's mental stability until you have shared a cell with him.

3.) No matter how many pairs of handcuffs, leg irons, or waist chains you have on, you will find a way to scratch an itch—no matter where it may be.

4.) There isn't near as much snitching going on as people think. The idiots are just too damn stupid to realize that they keep doing things that get themselves caught.

5.) You will meet people who can call up every Super Bowl game every played, recite all the plays and player's statistics, but can't get their GED.

6.) To obtain a cigarette, a person in cell A will make a deal with the person in cell Z. Though the cells are locked—and a hundred feet apart—the cigarette will make it from cell A to cell Z without any help from anyone outside the cells.

7.) You can find yourself hating someone you know absolutely nothing about.

8.) You'll be amazed at what can be hidden under a shirt.

9.) Being asleep can be the greatest thing you ever experience.

10.) There are 7,962 ways to prepare ramen.

11.) Regardless of the extent of the injury or ailment, you will have trained medical personnel look you in the eye with complete seriousness and try to convince you that ibuprofen will correct the condition.

Hello! I've had the time to read through many of your blogs and I've found them enlightening. I'm fighting for my life and hoping to stay out of prison in the near future, but I am mentally trying to cope with the idea of having to do many years. I never thought I'd find myself in this situation, but here I am. I didn't know if I'd be writing this out, but figured you might like the communication? So here's a couple quick questions I'd like to ask.

How's the TV situation nowadays? Does one person control the channel, like a boss? What's the typical day like around that.

If you had to tell me the best meal you've had during your stay, what would it be? I've only heard horror stories about prison food and I'm not sure what to make of it all. Do you have any typical meals you indulge in that are available?

When you run things like a grocery store, what do you do w/ the money? I noticed you flipped things but I always wondered where the cash goes and if you could use it for things outside of canteen, say for like a lawyer or whatnot.

What facility are you located at now? I'm looking into different ones and if I find myself unlucky, am trying to remember what's what and where. Like you said, location, location, location. Hopefully you're able to find some light in the day.

How's the library? Can you get access to books from the outside world pretty easily? What's available inside?

Anyhow, I wish you many blessings and hope that you find moments of peace and tranquility in there. God bless and I hope to hear back one day, before it's too late.
