SOUND MIND COMPANY,
AUTONOMOUS LGBTQIA+ AFFIRMING AND WELLNESS PROGRAM

THE MISSION:

To forge CDCR through a program addition transition, to create a different process and methodology of Rehabilitation programs and activities for the advancements specifically in area's of LGBTQIA+ perspective implementations towards attention to details in which ways are appropriate and effective to:

1. Provide adequate rehabilitative transitional resources in;
Education, Recreation, Vocational, Mental Health, Social and Faith based programming.

2. Achievement of such adjustments in growth for this very unique demographic of resident population absent the current generalized Rehabilitation models often developed and administered by doctrines that exist antithetical to LGBTQIA+ Nature.

While the primary focus of affirmation and accountability remain, SMC program writers adhere to the Ethnographic, Cultural, Historical and Spiritual requirements that are often nonexistent and not accessible to this marginalized and growing community.

The concept of creating, developing and existing within safe incarcerated environmental conditions for LGBTQIA+ residents can translate into lower recidivism rates after release.

When queer etiquette, gender intelligence, wellness activities and societal cultural nurturing of knowledge through peaceable assembly engagements become a matter of constructive agency, the LGBTQIA+ resident population are able to thrive towards becoming productive citizens of the World with confidence, and the ability to resurface as contributors, and not dependents.

2. The Globaltel Tablet programming has 0.1% LGBTQIA+ content in every category

Why is this course relevant now?

"Assaults on members of the LGBTQ community, especially trans folks, are rising in the United States: both through legal means in a number of States and through physical attacks and hate crimes.

My goal is for students to take courage and hope from knowing that same-sex relationships and gender diversity have existed in various guises for millennia. In antiquity, homosexuality was not considered an identity category the way it is today, making it hard to determine if and how LGBTQ-like people were discriminated against, but they certainly were not always met with contempt. For example, the body Hermaphroditus, a god whom Greeks sought out for help with fertility and child care issues, combined female and male characteristics."

It is vital that our primary focus to provide a Safe Space environment for queer expressions be relayed to usher in a new era for queer youth excellence.

Our research shows that ALL programming @CDCR is often under operational generation by the 50 and over heterosexual centered population. Our SMC is designed for 30 and under queer leadership, for example:

1. While the Barber Shops remain in antediluvian mode, we aim to allow our youth to serve each other through the concept of a (Beauty Salon), cosmetology influenced, complete with hair, make up and nails departments, and over all hygienic education from a queer perspective.

2. Expanded exercise/recreation activities like, Soccer and Volleyball, and Tournaments that also include Double dutch, also Dance Competitions that include Vogue Style Dance, Street Dance, Indigenous Ethnographic, and STEP categories.

3. Fashion Week bidding for gender conformity State Blue PIA submissions for roll out. An annual fashion show, produced and generated from all campuses, to be compiled on video and broadcasted through @CDCR/Sound Mind Streamer (ITV) designated channel Statewide.

These few Sound Mind ideations can be announced through the SQNEWS during the seasons of each activity, and also used as a transitional medium for invitationals, which will put all campuses with queer residents on notice for opportunities to become more engaging throughout the years.

Our incarcerated queer youth require autonomy, and if the Department will, fast forward to the future, can allow SQ @Unit East Block Wellness Center to be the headquarters for The Sound Mind Company, since it started here, we want to include our Transmen on SQ Campus as well, as they are also under represented in affirming programming.

The primary content in intentionally LGBTQIA+ AFFIRMING. This model also provides exclusive access to prison queer "private expression" identifying unique demographic population.

Equal Treatment:
SMS channel is the assurance of 24hr a day constructive representations of queer history, spirituality, cultural expression, education, health and wellness, business, economics, sociology, sports and entertainment, including in the fine arts, that affirms residents throughout the rehabilitation journey.
