I remember. And yes, we do have limited internet access through a WiFi system they have that basically charges us 0.01 cents a minute for some apps, and a few dozen apps sold by a monthly $25 for things like movies and music.

When you do that, you will see it gives you a "Visitor ID#" you need that for other things, like direct contact. The next thing to do after you have the visitor ID#, you can register to send instant messages to me just like how Facebook Messenger works, but its the Viapath/GTL version:

You will be asked things like my number and location because GTL, now calling themselves Viapath due to lawsuits they keep facing as GTL, has a veritable monopoly on prisons across the country for things like this. You will need to know my name, that I am in the South Carolina Department of Corrections, at the Broad River Correctional Institution, my SCDC# 323863, and the approval process is ... slow. But, calling GTL can help expedite the process.
I can call any phone number. Calls are about $1.65 or so for 15 minutes, instant messages are 0.25 cents a messager. There is no kind of notification, so no pop up chat heads or anything of that nature. I have to check for messages periodically and while in the app, we can chat -- with a slight delay, because the messages are obviousy fed through an algorithem for key words (e.g., for conversations about drugs, escape, contraband, etc.), anything that might threaten their need for maintaining the facade of total institution.

You need the visitor ID#, and will need to again call GTL after setting up the Connect Network account, to tell them your Visitor ID#, so they will unblock everything for you.
Requiring people to have a Visitor ID# is something new they added because the prions have little to no control over the gangs and the corrup staff and guards - so, it's their way of forcings people to verufy who they are that we communicate with. But, truthfully, it hasn't stopped anything and only made things worse.
