This is hard for me to write because, based on what I've heard and seen, I think you're guilty and need to be in jail. However, I am writing because I'm surrounded by men who have been falsely accused and painted or projected to be something they're not. I'd hate to cast that judgment on someone myself, not knowing all the facts.
Only you and Trayvon truly know what happened. But either way, a life was lost. Even if you are not guilty based on "standing your ground," not once have I heard you say you feel bad, feel sorry, or regret your actions in a life being lost. Your recording only indicates "you" and what you're going through.
George, I don't know what's going through your head or what you're being told by your lawyers, but the honorable thing to do is to be man enough to be empathetic towards those who loved and cared for the boy you killed.
I hope, in the end, justice will ultimately be served and you will understand the impact of your actions. None of us are perfect, and it's what we do after we mess up that defines our heart's and mind's true nature.
