Pain

PAIN

I still feel your fingertips
Across my skin
How good it makes me feel
Could be called a sin
And I still read your letters
Every night before I sleep
How can I function with
Wounds that go this deep?

How do I heal a broken
Heart like mine
And take away the pain
That I feel inside?
You gave me back myself
When you came into my life
And had a smile that
Could melt my cold heart
I never thought I knew
How to be free
And then you came
And broke the chains
That held on to me.

Your fingertips
Your touch, your kiss
The way you smiled at me
Filled my every being
Made me feel complete
I still remember your beautiful eyes
They seemed to look
Right through me
The void I have now
Is masked by the
Facial expressions I wear
Walking through this life
Without you
Makes everything seem a blur
Bring the pain to end
Come into my life once again.
