Cathy

Cathy is a woman I respect as a mother, wife to her husband, and friend to many. She reached out to me some years ago and inspired me with details of her life, including her non-stop effort to get her college degree, her passion to work, her nurturing spirit to be the best mother and wife she can be, and her undying faith in God.

Her love for her son stood out to me the most. Back then, her son was in prison. She explained to me how she cried, pleaded, and got on her knees begging the judge to have mercy on her son at his sentencing date. When her son was in prison, she learned the prison rules, more about the justice system, and stood by his side from beginning to end.

To this day, Cathy loved all her children dearly and is totally devoted to showing her love to them. She is the same way with her friends, even me. She forgot to send me a b-day card last year and it just sat in her desk for a whole year. When she was cleaning her desk, she noticed the card, grabbed it, bought another card, typed me a letter, and sent the cards to me this year a month early (ha ha). She even said, "A girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do." LOL

Even though Cathy and I don't communicate often, I know at the end of the day, she's genuinely a good woman, mom, wife, and friend to many people. I consider it an honor to be one of these friends and wish her nothing but the best. Thanks for the cards too. :)
