Howdy. It's been a boring few days. They had temps over 100 degrees here the past several days and so they shut the Rec yard down. This especially sucks 'cause there is NOTHING to do at this place. This is one of the most lame prisons I've ever been to as far as things to do. The inside Rec has basically nothing unless you want to do cardio or play pool (not). Then education is closed which includes the library. I've never been to a place where the library isn't open 7 days a week. Then the chapel too has had its library closed for months 'cause some dumbasses stole some DVDs out of there. What they thought they would do with these DVDs is beyond anyone's comprehension. Anyway...with the yard closed too there is absolutely nothing to do. You would think they would want for us to have something to do besides sit around and think of ways to get in trouble.

Butner is spoken of as "the place" to be in the BOP, but I have no idea why. It really has nothing compared to other places I've been to, which all have many more amenities and things to do, including crafts. Which reminds me...get this: for those who crochet here, they have one catalog you can order from, which totally sucks 'cause you're required to order in bulk. If you want/need one crochet hook in a size "h" for example, you're required to buy 6. Not only does that require the extra expense for something you don't want or need, but what the heck are you supposed to do with these 5 extra hooks? It's against the rules to share with inmates so that's out, and how much do you want to bet that they'd complain if you had all these extra hooks in your locker? Anyway...the idiots here also restrict what you can order out of this catalog. I can order yarn on page 92-93, but not the very same kind of yarn (with different colors) on page 94. Cotton yarn and nylon are out, but not for any legitimate reason, they just don't want to approve it. They also don't have "beading" here like they have at every other place I've been to. It's so retarded.

Whatever. Not much else to report. I'm way behind on legal crap as usual and have no energy or inspiration to work on it.
