Hey Doc Borgas: Thanks for your opinion + explanation. I must clarify though that it was the WAIS-III not IV that I posted the cluster scores for. Recently that same psychologist (the supervisor here - he wasn't a computer programmer, he recently clarified, but a shipping supervisor/quality control manager at a software co., not a programmer) gave me the scores for the Y subparts of the WAIS-IV which he did on me almost 2 years ago from behind a pane of shatter resistant glass. The scores were.
This is exactly what he put in my file.
Scaled score points earned/points possible
Similarities 16 34/36
Vocabulary 19 57/57
Information 18 25/25
Comprehension 18 35/36
He provided no I.Q. score for these, but I invite you to.
Frankly, I found them easy ("who's Pocahontas?") + one humorous ("what's the circumference of the Earth at the equator?") - I laughed, guessed 30,000 miles, he said, as I recall clearly, 24,8000 and 96 or 69 miles, which I distinctly recall b/c I was pissed about not getting it or partial credit; I assumed I had to get it exact, knew I wouldn't, so my guess was very flippant) + one I felt he shafted me on ('A shallow creek makes a lotta noise' or like that - stupid people talk a lot, said I only earned partial credit). Piss me off + I remember very well.
FYI, I hated grammar + English in school, flunked out in Tech College, thought it's for fags. After about 8,000 pgs of legal writing in prison (counting rough drafts), I began studying grammar + writing more seriously. About 7000 pgs of legal writing after that I got into poetry + took French more seriously. I think the principle expressed in The Talent Code (Daniel Coyle) was proven in me. Further, keep in mind that I lacked the hammer, anvil and stirrup in my right ear from bitch, had epilepsy (not since about age 9) + had a speech impediment ("sh" sound like "s" + "g"s still sound lispy), so was a horrific speaker, but did read well. Reciting poetry and attitude help.
Math, I don't use much; my long term memory is great (the psych here did several components of the WMS, but saw no need to finish it - I did very well), surprised that my working memory wasn't higher.
As a youngster, I excelled in classes, when not distracted by problems at home. My mom + littlest bro had MPD/DID + I had to play a major role in keeping them stable + us kids safe; surely had PTSD myself, mislabelled ADD.
Consider also testing conditions - handcuffed, shackled, surrounded by lunatics, + they deem me a lunatic too (36 on the PCL-II). Sleep's...difficult here.
Stick around, tell your fellows I'm down for studies, testing + am looking for a good place to donate my body + brain too. All I ask is some coeds necrophilize me! :)
Nate
