My name is Bernard L. Smith. I am a 5'10", 207 lbs, brn eyes, blk hair, Black man here at the RJ DONOVAN CORRECTIONAL FACILITY in SAN DIEGO, CA, serving a 25 YEARS-TO-LIFE for a simple possession drug charge under California THREE STRIKE LAW.

First and foremost, I want to thank all the people "We The People" in California who voted for PROP. 36 in this past November 6th, 2012 election to amend the THREE STRIKES LAW to violent offenses. THANK YOU.

And with your support, I will be released soon.

However, I wanted to let the people "We The People" of California and America know just who you supported.

Therefore I am asking you to review my educational and employment accomplishments and allow me to become a permanent part of your interest; by providing me the needed resources that are required for my return to society.

I have served fifteen years of this 25 YEARS-TO-LIFE sentence.

My first request is housing.

I will need somewhere to live. I am not requesting free housing, but it will take me three months to eight months to really get myself together.

Clothes. $400 will allow me to shop at thrift stores. I will. I understand.
