Notice To State Employees

Blog #5

An invitation to former Wisconsin Prision staff and notice to all current state employees.

I encourage you all to check out and participate in this blog. You have inside info on abuse, corruption and waste that occurs within the W.P.O.C. Come, tell Prometheus and the world aaaaall about it.
Remember how your fellow former staff friends solicited inmates to snitch? Well, now you can enjoy the excitement of being an informant.
Come on, tell the world all the dirty details.
If you got sharted by the WPOC, we've got that in common! Let's cry on each other's soulders.

FYI, Wisconsin Admin. Code (WAC) {Doc 303_26} soliciting staff only prohibits personal reltaions with "staff", not former staff.
But for anyone employed by Wisconsin, etc., be aware that {DOC 303.02(21)} currently defines "staff" as "... any state employee, an employee of a contract facility, an independent contractor, or a volunteer of the department or institution." This is clearly an unnecessarily broad definition of "staff", as it unjustifiably forbids prisioners from personally relating with such inconsequential persons as a jainitor in the capital building, or a police oficer who may be the prisioner's brother or sister.
No worries state employees! I'm standing up for your First Amendment rights to personally relate with and visit prisioners by litigating Wesely v. Raemisch, W.D. Wis Case No 10-CV-459-slc! In Wesley, a WSPF prisioner was punished for having a personal relationship with a former prision supervisior and current mental hospital employee. We are challenging both, the definition of "staff" and application of {DOC 303.26 to Wesley.
Given the favorable decision in another prisioner's similar suit, see Hardaway v. Kerr, 573 f. supp 419 (W.D. Wis 1983), and the lack of a real need to interfere in the relationship or to define "staff" so broadly, we expect to prevail. However, current state employees should complain to their legislators about this overbroad prohibition on them from having personal relations with prisioners, even family members!
Those who aren't employed by the state- join the light side! Me! And... if I happen to get an anonymus letter... I won't ask or tell. Point is, I want to get an insice source on what's wrong with the beast so we can make our world a little better. An I'm willing to forgive you for being a WDOC employee.
We've all made mistakes...
