A Thought of the Week

Thought of the Week
自作自愛: "Suffer as a result of one's own actions."

When I found this in my Chinese dictionary, all I could do was ponder the thought. How true this is. Each and every day that goes by I've come to understand this. No one else can walk in my shoes. They are mine and mine alone. Fit for my feet and broke in by the weight I inflict in them.

"It's not my fault. They made me do it. I had no choice, but..." This is all I've heard over the time of my incarceration. Come on, really? Do you wipe your own ass when you take a crap? It's always everyone else who does these terrible things. But not "us."

I really enjoy this saying so much I've got it tattooed on my body so I'll never forget it. To suffer is because of my own actions, just as being it is to being happy! I have the choice in how I feel, act, respond or live.

Maybe if we took more time to pay attention, our shoes wouldn't wear out so fast... Remember: it's only ourselves who dictates how comfortable they are. ;)

Until next blog... No wild monkey sex.
