I Never Thought

I never thought when I was born, I'd end up in jail
I never thought I had talent, writing poems in my cell
I never thought about the consequences when I did what I did
I ever thought that they would take me away from my kid
I never thought I'd ever like this woman named Shannon
I never thought I'd do her wrong and she'd still be responding
I never thought my don would be born with a birth defect
I never thought about my future, or what could happen next
I never thought that the judge, would give me 21 years
I never thought I could shed so many tears
I never thought what this wicked life would bring to me
I never thought me fighting for my freedom, would ever be
I never thought I would be doing a lot of jail time
I never thought I'd be stressed out, about to lose my mind
I never thought for a minute, my son would be without his dad
I never thought of precious memories that me and my son had
I never thought I would cause my family so much pain
I never thought other people in my city would think I'm insane
I never thought I could be a threat, and cause any danger
I never thought I'd be feeling, he wrath of God's anger
I never thought I'd miss out on year of my life
I never thought that people would tell me wrong is right
I never thought my family, would stand behind me in court
I never thought I'd have to ask strangers for support
I never thought going to prison was a consequence I'd bought
I never thought I'd get caught, but I did because I never thought.
