Have you considered using your "bleeding heart" and donating some time to a Crisis Nursery for child victims? Perhaps children of domestic violence/abuse? In the US, these "centers" are full of children (from newborns up) who never had a chance. They need love, nurturing, random acts of kindness. The system buses the young ones to school where they have an institutional breakfast and lunch. No homemade packed lunches or cookies from home. They are bused back and sleep in dorm style rooms. The system, unfortunately, is not equipped to give these children what that need most - stability and security.
You appear to have a heart and a soul - could you not use it to help those who never had the chance to make any life choices?
You use the term "shame" frequently. Did you know that guilt and shame are two of the most useless emotions one can experience? Think about it. Where and what what purpose would shame serve? I'm ashamed of NOTHING. Shame changes nothing. Again, I would suggest you spend more time making a difference in the life of small children who (hopefully) will venture out into the world. You're wasting your time and denying your own young children to focus on a very dark subject you know nothing about.
You cannot and will not make a difference to any of these inmates (especially death row inhabitants). Your interests borders on "morbid" in my opinion.
Why would a young, single mother with small children waste time hand holding what society has deemed the worst of the worst? Have you nothing positive in life to focus on?
You can send Mr. Pinson all the materials you want. Read his defense for his case - MENTAL ILLNESS.
I'm not without empathy for some of these convicts...but I have to ask how you, as a young mother, would feel about subjecting your children or your loved ones to them? Would you bring them around your kids? Would you harbor them, give them a place to stay, let them share your food and drive your car? I didn't think so because it wouldn't be safe.
You previously posted that you wouldn't "stoop to my level". Nicki - what are YOU doing with young children begging for your attention (per your previous post about your typical day).
It's a fact that children who are neglected will ultimately abuse and neglect. Trim the trees in your own yard before you try to plant a forest for these inmates.
The answer to your question is simply 'taxes'. I know here in Australia alcohol carries very heavy government taxes so It's not in the best interests of our government's bottom line to outlaw its use. The solution may be to legalise marijuana and tax it but will this happen..?
You now have 2 states in the USA that recently legalized marijuana (congratulations!) Hopefully your prison populations and the war on drugs will see the benifits of that soon. Other problems for implementing this change may be non-progressive attitudes, these issues are probably not vote winners. I don't think one substance will ever legally replace the other though.
I owe you no explanations. Jeremy will know the answers to your time wasting questions when he receives the materials I am sending to him and that is all that matters to me.
Finally... if you have experience in either of the fields I am currently studying and post the things you do on this site, and particularly on this specific post... SHAME on YOU!
I really like a majority of the posts you put up, I started updating your profile and posts. Everyday I try to update a new post and get excited as to what I'm going to get to read that day. You seem like a very intellegent man and I feel as if you can ammount to so much more. And I dont say this just because your in prison or because you made mistakes, my sons father is in prison for a long time so I do not judge. Anyways I love reading your posts and cant wait to finish updating it.
