ID# FCC Proposal

*March 12, 2013*

In here there's a lot of backstabbing, a lot of violence and you must adapt. Once you adapt, you become no different than the rest.

If you're not in continuous contact with your family in person or on the phone you will lose touch with their life, you'll change and so will they.

I don't have any phone calls or visits for several years, then once our phone prices went down and I started calling I caught myself mistrusting my family as if they were inmates too.

I used to think my family hated me because I couldn't call them, I even attempted suicide, thinking they'd be better off without me.

That's my story in a nutshell.

As far as ideas for our phone system, I only have a couple ideas (3 ideas):

#1) No connection fee.
#2) Only charge by the minute or by every 5 minutes. In Washington it's $3.61 even if you're only on the phone 30 seconds.
#3) Fix the in state poles so the out of [page cuts off]

Okay, that's what I have to offer. I hope you guys find some good ideas and put them in motion soon.

Always,

Hi, David

I am writing to let you know about Prison Action News, a biannual journal of prisoners' stories of resistance to incarceration. Written by prisoners and edited and distributed by outside volunteers, PAN has about 1,600 incarcerated subscribers across the US. It is a great outlet to both read and publish stories about fighting exorbitant phone prices, or any other oppressive aspect of prison life. If you would like to subscribe to PAN, write to:
