Thank you for your comments. I wrote this post hoping to shed a light on mental illness from more than a clinical or anecdotal aspect. People often read of mental illness following gun violence but we need to discuss it before these tragedies. Millions of mentally ill are falling through the cracks and our media focuses only on the acts of the deranged or insane. Prisons and jails are full of the untreated mentally ill who WILL one day reenter society worse than when they entered. Let us begin to talk about this NOW, when it matters most. Leave not for tomorrow what can be fixed today.
