Duh, Winning The Future!

Duh, Winning the Future!

"I asked you a direct question!" That's all I hear on TV and the radio. Duh, if you're talking on the phone, everything you say is "direct", right? What they're really saying is: "I just asked you a loaded question, and I expect to be applauded because I'm the real story!" Okay, so I got a little carried away, just a little though.

Right now the typical talking-head would say: "You're putting words in my mouth!" Another one of their favorite rebuttals. Back to the questions. If you're Sarah Palin, you get asked "gotcha" questions like, "Who is your favorite founding father?" and "Which newspaper do you like to read?" Gotcha! You betcha!

Ultimately, what these people, both pundits and politicians alike, are trying to say is "How dare you question me!" Because when you question someone, you question their "authority", even if you're just asking for the time.

The ultimate sin is to ask a hypothetical question, that is just another excuse not to answer a question at all, again for the above reason.
