My name is Jackie Henderson. I go by Kakamia Lmarisha, a name given to me by my baby sister. It means "undying warrior." I can say was, at one time, but now I'm not so sure!

The state of California is an evil place when it comes to prison, youth and rehab. Don't take my smile as reality. Know it as what it is: a mask! The 20 plus years I have been in this place, never to feel the compassionate touch of a woman. I have fallen in love with others who leave nothing than a mirage. I yearn for the touch of a beautiful transgender because the state says that I am not deserving of family visits because I'm a lifer.

7 to life feels like life without. You see, California makes a profit off of us, whereas other states attempt to actively rehabilitate. I see corruption on a daily basis. Cops who bring in cellphones and dope. If you say anything, you are labeled a rat, snitch, and even worse. So you have no choice but to suck it up and watch as the media spreads lies to the public.

People wonder why I want to shut the whole thing down. I'm tired, my friends... I'm tired. I beg of you, help me...
