Hello family, that's what I consider each of those who respond to my posts.
Good or of different opinion. Each response has me grow.
I'm just so grateful for "Between the Bars" and what's come of this. At first, I really
didn't think it would help. However, I didn't know what a blog was either. :-)
So today I'd like to post a prayer that "I" say very often each day. It takes me out of most rough spots I face each day.
It's become a special tool for me and my serenity and sobriety. We like to start our 12 step meetings with this prayer so
I know there are people out there who share my feelings.
"Mon Dieu, Conne - moi la se're'nite' d'acepter les choses que je ne peux changer, le courage de changer les choses que je peux, et la
sagesse d'en connaitez la diffe'rence."
Oh I'm sorry, please go to page two for the English translation :-)
(page 2)
"God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to
know the difference."
By the way, the first translation was "French" and that was for my friend Dr. Kate Hudson. Hey Kate.
This next piece of my post is for Bookman, AKA Dennis. Dennis, I don't think they will get this wrong or detext [?] it.
You're absolutely right about people using The Bible to bash us. So here's my challenge full in the quote people only Red letter "words of Jesus"
Please go to page III of post Sept 16th 2013
(page 3)
[picture of a man holding up a white board sign with the words:
"As Jesus Said About Gay People:
[blank in quotations. Perhaps this is what he has wanted Dennis to fill in]"
Well family, it's late and this Ole' Romantic is going to sleep.
Dennis I love ya man, stay strong.
Peace,
Billy

Thanks for writing! I finished the transcription for your post.
I am glad that Between the Bars is helping. I am sorry that people are using the bible to bash on you and Dennis. I, myself am a Christian and I hope you take comfort in knowing - we aren't all like that. If I had to fill in the blanks I would say that Jesus would say about Gay People: "I love you just as much."
God Bless
Maita
Love the blog. And thanks for the shout-out!
Kate
I am glad that my reply has brought some comfort to you in this hard time in your life. I agree that it is really hard to love in this time of constant hate but I am glad you are keeping your spirits up.
I will pray for you, Dennis, Aunt Mimi and her Drs. Also, if ever you feel it too hard to love, remember what Mother Teresa said: "Let us always meet each other with smile, for the smile is the beginning of love."
Keep smiling and God Bless
Maita
