Been stuck on the most restrictive unit in W.C.I.'s seg. building for the last couple months. It ca be entertaining, but is also wearisomely distracting. Hard to think deep. Art is no problem, but reading & writing seems impossible. I can't "hear myself think," keep a train of thought together.
I was able to put together vol. 2 of EM DAER, which collects my best verse & lyrics. You can find it on PrisonsFoundation.org, along with vol. 2. Vol. 2 contains more philosophical, extrinsic writings than my highly subjective, autobiographical vol. 1. Please let me know what you think about either vol., tell others about them and buy printed copies.
On 1 Nov. I was sentenced in Grant Co. Circuit Court for the three cases I caught over 2 assaults and one battery of guards at WI's "former" supermax. In my allocation I made some valid points supporting my conclusion that supermax psych. staff's refusal to recognize & respond to my P.T.S.D. (they labeled me a psychopath... then denied treatment for P.T.S.D.) & calloused confinement in isolation for more than 12 years at least contributed to those crimes occurring. The chronic, roaring idiocy of my neighbors disabled me from presenting my allocution as smoothly as I wanted to.
My art book is almost done. It'll either be published on PrisonsFoundation.org, here, or both. I've no way to cover the postage to mail off my collection of autobiographical essays, so I put it on a shelf.
Few happy times. Few exciting discoveries. I don't want to beat you with my sadness at being - so it seems - trapped in a dirty, oppressive cycle by those in power here. As I pointed out in my allocation, the truly sociopathic inmates (snitches, predators of all types - sex offenders, pushers, gang-members...) flourish within prisons, while the few who genuinely seek to help others (maybe because it distracts them from the fact that they need help themselves, or they subconsciously hope Karma will kin in & they'll get the help they need). suffer oppression at the hands of prisoncrats who so clearly don't want those they're feeding off to be healed.
My health is good. I turned 38 on 21 Oct. Don't feel old, mental not really physically either, but the years in a box must have debilitated me.
Been litigating, trying to read, drawing a lot, writing a bit...
In forthcoming posts I intent to deeply discuss the topics of "gangs" & "racism" in the W.D.O.C. When this will actually be done, I can't guarantee, as I'm dependent on a weekly free forever stamped envelope for postage & it's hard to think well here. The issues of "gangs" & "racism" are elephants in the rooms of forums like BtB, which I doubt are thoroughly discussed - I've never read about the anti-White male racism that is so pervasive amongst Black, Brown & even White prisoners. I'll give you my perspective & experiences.
If you are financially secure, please sponsor my blogging by purchasing postage-embossed envelopes for me from 1-800-236-2611 JLMarcusWisconsin.com. Massive debts (about $11,000 now) from litigation to improve prison conditions prevent me from purchasing anything myself. Of course transcribing my posts, linking my blog to other sites, "liking" it on Facebook, sharing posts with the media, etc. is very appreciated!
I know that there are people out there reading this who have struggles of their own. I wish you well. If you think I can help, go ahead and ask.
Those of you who are struggling to do what's right, be moral, under intense pressure (or seemingly intense pressure) to do or be otherwise, struggle on. Know you are not alone.
Anyone interested in personally contacting or relating with me, give a holler.
Regards,
Nate
