Re: Christmas Day

I woke this morning to just another day in SHU. The morning is cold as hell. I've been pissed for the past week because when they brought us our canteen, they only gave me half of what I ordered. I ordered a soap dish and some soap, but I didn't want enough for both. So all they sent was the soap dish. I think I'd rather they sent me the bar of soap. But I got a laugh out of it.

Breakfast this morning was a toss up. It's waffle day and hot cereal with no sugar in it. They talk about making changes. They can't even put a little sugar in our cereal. it tastes bad as it is but worse without sugar.

Man, I hate the holidays because they show a lot of dumb/some kind of Christmas stuff on TV. I did see a movie about a witch named Lina, it was pretty good. I think it was called Beautiful Creatures. I didn't like the ending though. I like happy endings.

I'm almost finished with this art project I'm working on. When I finish, I will get them copied and have them posted. This is a buffalo (I'm doing this bad) but it represents the Native American people and culture. To the plains Indians, the buffalo was sacred not just a source of food. I've wanted to draw one for quite a while. I finally got around to it.

The guard just came and picked up the food trays. Then he said that there was no yard today. Merry Christmas >:( The guards are going to have their little Christmas party, I guess. I hope they choke on it.

It's like that on all holidays. If there's an asshole working like the sergeant we have here, he locks down the program. Others don't care and let us have yard.

I went to the law library on Monday morning. I had to do some research on my civil rights case. We only got two hours, and that's not enough time. I was just started to get on a probate [illegible] introduction when it was time to come back to my cell. They don't let us check out legal books or I'd check it out. They're too expensive for me to purchase.

What I really would like to do is take a paralegal course that costs like $600. I think it's $30 a month. I self-taught myself almost everything on my own, but there are some areas I don't know about like this probate issue. It deals with the death of a defendant in a suit or how to handle the finances or property of a deceased. Now that the defendant in my case has died, I have to change my entire game plan, an area that I have never studied.

Kind of like my problem with algebra. I'm barely now studying algebra, geometry, and all that scientific rocket science Einstein bullshit. I have no idea how I'd ever use it, but it's a requirement, I guess.

It's 2:00 PM. Was drawing all morning and I'm done with my buffalo. I then exercised for an hour and a half, and ate my lunch. A friend of mine made something for us for the holiday. He does it every holiday. He saves a lot of food items and mixes it with some of his canteen items. I'm supposed to wait till tonight, but I never do. I eat it as soon as it slides under my door. :)

Now I'm gonna sit back and watch the movies made from Alex Haley's novels. Queen is on right now. I watch them every year. Slavery and oppression touched all of us. It's just not called slavery. That was done to the Native Americans and indigenous people in North and South America.

Respect.
