College Kid -

Happy New Year - and all the good that comes with it.

Well, I was able to write my first Haikus. I want to thank you personally. You light a fire under this stick and allowed me to move forward. Thank you for your honesty and challenge. I don't consider myself a master but who knows 300 years from now you and I will be famous. (Happy Face)

I think these add up? How's it coming on your end?? Ok. Here goes.

River flows black
Into nothingness no more
Giving myself up

The fire burns once more
From a stranger it springs forth
Taking in sweet air

Well, that's my first two, plus my 2014 poem. I've also wrote some more stuff but I doubt I'll post it. Hey, there's a book I think you'd love - A Poetry Handbook by Mary Oliver / Harcourt and Brace Company (S2SB St. Ste 1900 San Diego, CA 92101

OK. As I was saying. I'm sorry it's a hard address, but Ms. Oliver is an award winning poet. And I say that because my simpleton ways was really helped by her book. It helped with sound and sense, the line and imagery.

There was another book, but unless you might be interested I'll save lead. Really it's hard just to go and buy pencils. I have eight or nine pens, but with my seizure disorder, pens are quite embarrassing. But hey, this book deals with writer's block.

Well, I will let you back to your studies or whatever. I'll look forward to your Haiku and your honest opinion on my two - because...?
