PULLING THE READER in to leave them hanging is what good writers do. A good example for you to read would be J.D. Salinger's Nine Stories (Eleanor should publish under E.A. Mahaffey, that would be cool). You should get her a copy of that book. I sent her one to Mamaw. All of the kids have boxed-up books and magazines there waiting for them.
If you'll provide an address, write it to me in a letter or to Mamaw. Don't go posting it on the net. I will arrange for the kids to get magazine subscriptions (titles of your approval, obviously). I'll continually renew them as long as they're receiving them and want them. I'm thinking Poets & Writers for Ellie. Maybe Super Street or Modified for Connor. Possibly Discover or Artists Magazine for Michaila. And one to you, of your choice.

I'll be purchasing your subscriptions from them, so go there and check out their full list. Write to me a list of your choices and some alternatives because sometimes problems arise with certain magazines. Mail me the list, and I'll take care of the rest.
SORRY TO HEAR you were sick. And thank you for asking about me. I've been well physically. Mentally, however, is another issue entirely. Read the book The House of the Dead by Dostovevsky or The Stranger by Albert Camus. Then you'll have an idea of what exactly I mean by that allusion.
ON THE SUBJECT OF IQ, something you've always wondered about me. I'll tell you this since we have children. IQ is somewhat hereditary. I've just been given some interesting diplomas (a GED among them) and a letter from the South Carolina Department of Education. One certificate is for a "Superior Examination Score," which shows I'm in the top 1% (above 99% of all traditional high school graduates) nationally in the US.
