When a person is embedded in the much of a negative lifestyle, all their actions, thoughts, and life perspectives seem normal. Especially when your surrounding parties are mentally equal. Those who are spiritually dead can't perceive the things of God. Divine truth can't penetrate because their "receiver", or spirit, is dead within them.

So, in order for a person living negatively to flip the positive switch on, he/she must start by rebooting the mind. Whatever is in your heart will spew out of your mouth. Negative consumption equals negative results, both physically & mentally.

I made the decision to become positive because I felt I was at the lowest point a negative lifestyle can produce—prison. I needed a savior and knew no man, including myself, could do it. I mean, I was my own worst enemy and I needed someone to rescue me from me.

So I contemplated on who my savior would be and the only answer that was plausible was God, our highest power. Now, although God saves us and gives us a new spirit, He does not give us a new brain. Our minds have many trenches that have been dug or worn by rebellion, self-focus, or habit.

That's why I find it to be vital that we meditate on the Word of God. Meditation is more than reading—it involves contemplating what the Word means and applying the truth. Absorbing Scripture, like a sponge, allows our spiritual mind to expand to full capacity and overflow with Christ-likeness.

Once thees mind jerkers started to become my personal reality, I refused to sit here in prison and wait for tomorrow's opportunities. I realized that between the great things we can't do and the little things we won't do, the danger is that we'll do nothing. The world is blessed most by those who do things, not by those who merely talk about doing them.

A task without a vision is drudgery; a vision without a task is daydreaming; but a task with a vision is the pathway to victory and achievement. And to achieve my task, I must trust that God will calm my storms, still the waves, rescue me, bring out the stars and guide me safely into His harbor of hope. I always tell people: try God, it works!

God bless you & your mother, Hanna. I wish you both Godspeed.
