OUR THOUGHTS

The mind is the control tower of life. Your thoughts greatly influence not only your successes, failures, and choices but also your relationship with the Lord and others. Godliness comes from thinking the way God does.

Yet there are several problems that can negatively impact our thoughts. One of the most persistent is the influence of our past. When I was saved, God gave me a new spirit and a new life. Even though I'm incarcerated, living a new life consists of how you live, not where you're living.

By allowing me to start over, God didn't blot out my past from my mind. He wants us to be able to draw from our good and bad experiences when ministering to others. We always need to know where we've been and where we want to go. He also wants us to know how important it is for us to remember what He rescued us from.

Unsuitable input is also another problem that invades our thoughts. Though we may think we are immune to the effect of harmful influences, what we allow into our minds greatly impacts our thinking.

Unrighteous input creates an acceptance of and desire for worldly things. It can also lead to internal conflict; our godly thoughts are at odds with our ungodly appetites, which creates feelings of tension and guilt. As we begin to edit God from various parts of our lives, we allow Satan to gain a toehold. But Satan can be defeated. Our minds are similar to computers. Properly programming our minds can protect us from the traps and snares of life.

Another amazing post :)
How do you limit the negative influences that can affect your positive mind? how do you regain control over your positive mind set?
what type of prayer and meditation do you do?

This is seriously my favorite blog of all times. You also have really good hand writing. I like reading the actual letter more.

Here are more quotes to fill this page (I feel bad for the tree that used to live here):
The most important of my discoveries have been suggested to me by my failures.
-Humphry Davy

You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don't try to forget the mistakes, but you don't dwell on it. You don't let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space.
-Johnny Cash
Thanks for blogging Rechell. I also really like the betweenthebars program. It's weird I feel you have very unique thoughts. i don't know many authors or people that can really nail these messages. do you think being in prison has been your opportunity for growing amazingly spiritually?
also I think u could consider writing a book.

Great Hugs Rechell.
