Election 2014
Dallas, Texas Votes Beware
Do Not Vote for Judge Carter Thompson
Criminal Court Case No. 05
An independent, honorable, and fair judiciary is indispensable to ensuring that justice prevails (more often than not) in the courtrooms across our nation. That's of particular importance here in Texas where the death penalty is used more than anywhere else in America, and Dallas county loads most states in the number of DNA exonerations and wrongful convictions in general.
For those standards to become a reality, Texas judges must enthusiastically participate in establishing, maintaining, and enforcing high standards of judicial and personal conduct at all times. Judges must observe those standards so that the integrity, independence, and fairness of the Texas judiciary is preserved, not subject to ridicule and questioning. When the conduct of judges such as Carter Thompson express the Texas judicial system to ridicule and continuous scrutiny, the votes have a moral responsibility to elect someone who promotes public confidence, trust, and respect in the integrity, impartiality, and fairness of every court here in the state of Texas.
The following facts are not an exhaustive listing of the reasons why you should not vote for Carter Thompson of the Criminal District Court No. 05 when you cast your vote in the 2014 Dallas County elections.
1. Judge Thompson has cost taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars ("and still counting") as a result of the rulings he made which paved the way for the district attorney's office to secure my wrongful conviction on April 22, 2008 (http://www.angelfire.com/crazy4/texas/lawbreakslaw.html)
2. Judge Thompson proceeded forth with my trial, although he, the prosecution, and my court appointed attorneys Diana Jones and Larry E. Jarrett were well aware that I had been adjudicated incompetent to stand trial by a court-appointed expert named Dr. Michael Pittman.
3. Judge Thompson ordered me banned from the Frank Crowley Courthouse in 2007 in order to appease prosecutors Tammy Kemp and Gordon Hicket. This ban had absolutely nothing to do with any violations of the law.
4. Judge Thompson colluded with his official court reporter Ms. Franklin (and likely with others as well) to alter the trial transcripts to make it appear as if I was in court during the late afternoon of April 21, 2008, when jury selection took place. Truth is, I wasn't. I had been "erroneously" excused by Judge Thompson so I could go pick up my daughter from preschool in Garland, Texas.
5. Judge Thompson was responsible for chasing the dismissal of my civil suit against his official court reporter.
6. Judge Thompson was responsible for denying all the grounds presented in my state habeas corpus application ("11.07").
7. Judge Thompson has to this date, refused and failed to comply with the U.S. District Court's February 09, 2012 order remanding my case back to the trial court for resolution of specific grounds presented in my federal habeas corpus petition (2254). See: Lakeith Amir-Sharif vs. brad Livingston, Executive Director, TDCJ, Case No. PE:11-CV-00047-RAJ and In RE: Lakeith Amir-Sharif (USSB Circuit) Case No. 12-50752 and #13-50253.
The "above the law" mentality of Judge Carter Thompson has no place in our judicial system and you have an opportunity to prove this by not casting a vote for this judge and encouraging friends and family to do the same.
The integrity, impartiality, and fairness of the court system in Dallas will forever be suspect so long as Carter Thompson is a sitting judge.
