What is Pink Revolution?
By Jennifer Gann

A couple of years ago I got a tattoo on back of both my forearms which, when I put my fists together reads from my right to my left, "Pink Revolution." I have been asked more than once what it means.

To me, it means everything I stand for as a transgender woman. It means Women's Liberation. It means Queer Liberation. It means abolition of the prison industrial complex. It means I am against patriarchy and prisons.

The concept of 'pink revolution' is inspired by my sisters in struggle all over the world by women who are brave enough to raise their fists in the air in solidarity against patriarchy and sexual violence, and shout "Girl Power!" in the streets. It means we want justice and equality! NOW!!!

My tattoo also symbolizes my role within the leadership of Black & Pink, our name being inspired by anarcho-communist colors with a queer twist!

[Includes illustration of "Revolution" tattoo with caption reading "Tattoo illustration by Jennifer Gann (L. outside forearm, the other arms says 'Pink')"].
