I'm glad to have the opportunity to share my experiences and to help raise public awareness of these issues. I'm also one of ten participants in a book project, The Women of San Quentin, by Norwegian author and photo-journalist Kristin Lyseggen (www.kristinl.com).
I have started an initiative with Black & Pink, the Advocacy Campaign for Transwomen (ACT!)!, and am currently pursuing an administrative appeal concerning the discriminatory blanket-ban policy against sex-reassignment surgery (SRS) by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitations (CDCR).
