Hello World!

I've been so honored by how many people have sent encouraging notes and said, "Thank you for your service." It means a lot to know that all these lonely and tense cold nights sitting in the desert waiting for hell to appear had value.

Maybe someday I'll be able to say the same about prison...

There is one thing I would ask all of you to do for veterans... to express your gratitude of the sacrifices made for you.

Please don't throw trash on the ground. Every time I see you throw a gum wrapper in the street or a McDonald's bag out the car window or a cigarette butt flicked on the grass in a pack, it breaks my heart.

To me it feels like you're spitting on the face of every veteran whose blood stains foreign lands. Every teardrop of a loved one and every blood drop of a son or daughter that freely gave all for our blessed land, our home, your home.

Each time you honor our land in this way you are saying thank you.

May God bless and save us all.
