Poems

From Counterfeit Freedom by Roland F. Stoecker Jr (author's profile)

Transcription

Fleeting Freedom
Today in defiance, I picked up a rock and
threw it over the razor wire fences as the
guards wait in bored anticipation for a prisoner
to snap and seek freedom through a bullet. 6/15/14

-Window Paste-
I caught and trained
a cricket morse code
I hope he finds you
I've been craving to say
I Love You
to our daughters.
Roland 6/14/13

-Pearly Gates-
This yellowing cage
keeps me from speaking
of things that haunt me.
little pieces of death
I write upon
allowing the pain to escape.
only I've never conquered the past
so my future
stays the same as my present.
6/9/14

-Maze-
I get lost
inside my head
where the past echos
