Engendered by legionaires educated within
an academy of "do's and don'ts";
whose sword is a pen and a
certification of competency becoming
a lamb fresh to the hero's folds.
There is no place for a visionary amongst
a population constantly at odds with itself...
I see only within myself,
this realm's validation of all I am not,
wherein my potential
is expressed in terms of my anonymity
while I am forced to bear
witness to this
America's greatest delirium.
Some say I don't have to look or see.
But in its completeness
I still have to live it.

In the belly of the oldest institution in the United States, a man will encounter any number of strange people. On a late evening in the summer of 2007, prisoners' fears, irritation, anger, etc. ran chaos and sent me spiraling into my own kind of chaos. This is the order and sense I was able to make of it.

I'm always open to perspective, be it encouragement, criticism, suggestions, corrections. If the language I use can define my life experiences in a way that others can understand and identify with, I'm happy to share it. If others' experiences and opinions can help me better understand my own feeling too, I would be a better man for it.
