Hola Antonia,
Que sorpreza!

So you really are in Italia, huh? Heard it's beautiful over there. Never been there, but I've seen the Godfather. Ha! Just kidding.

I appreciate your feedback. Really. Glad you pointed out the "appropriate comparisons," I am trying to write on metaphors and comparative poetry. The resources we have in this place are very limited, however, I recently came in contact with a look called Edgar Allan Poe-selected Poems and Tales and, trust me, it's been harder to read than I thought. But it's been very helpful. Sonia Sanchez is one of my favorite poets because I can understand and relate to her poetry. But poets like Allan Poe? ...Well, I'll just keep reading until I can finally grasp what it is he is trying to say. Basically, I'm self-taught. So when people such as yourself point out certain things I might be doing right, I truly, truly appreciate it.

You know being in a cold cell is rough. Some people become helpless, weak, until they lose all hope. But I try to find things to keep myself strong. Like when I think about those three women in Aluo who were kidnapped at a young age and were kept in a cell. Basically, for 10 years plus, it makes me feel thankful for the little things I do got. I go to school every day to help other guys. I can pick up a look from the library and read; I can pick up the phone and call my family whenever I can write to them; I can enjoy the sunshine every now and then. Those women could do none of that So if they held on and kept hope alive under those circumstances, I believe and I can make it in this place. I just count my blessings and thank God for every day that I'm alive.

I'ma change the subject now. I think your English is great. Really. I don't know how long you've been practicing but it's pretty good. Now if you think it's difficult for an Italian to speak English properly, imagine a Mexican! Took me a while, but I got it. Eventually you will get it too. Thank you for everything.

Peace and blessings,
Jesus Andrade

P.S.
'Preciate you sharing your name. Italian guy who? ...Now I know.
