I reflect upon what you wrote—it dawns on me that a lot of folks are less fortunate than us. I had reverently sought out adventure in my youth too.
One of my favorite things to do was explore trails when we were camping in the rocky mountains. I would go off on my own—get almost lost sometimes! it was so exciting—a thrill of sorts—to see if I could get turned around and find my way back. I have a great sense of direction to this day.
Being a loner is not a bad thing. :O) I too was one of those kids who could entertain himself. I would play by myself and didn't need to be kept entertained. Mom tells me that I would play for hours by myself with my active, creative imagination.
I laughed at your comment. Another time, other planet. :OP Please feel free to elaborate on this. Assume you believe in extraterrestrial life too?
I think of the holidays with my big extended family as the holidays arrive. It's such a good time of the year for family get-togethers. Still, to date, our big Catholic family gets together at Grandmother's for Christmas. We have a big turkey day meal, traditional pies, etc. The works.
Lots to thankful for as the years pass. Good memories, good times; and I wouldn't change it at all.
Nice talking to ya, Greenboy. Feel free to write me at:
