To Julia:
Greetings in peace. May this find you healthy and in good spirits. Yesterday, I received your rather lengthy yet interesting comments you posted regarding my Getting Back to Basics post. Thank you for your more recent response to this topic.

Julia, the dialogue about "Ehrenreich" obviously impacted your thought process and how you view the world in which you live. You offered a lot of information while I was simply communicating personal observations. Since I have had this blog, I have learned how these two words (information and communication) are frequently used interchangeably, but they mean quite different things. Information is giving out, while communication is getting through. And the most important thing in communicating is to hear what isn't being said.

My intent is communicating, in all of my various topics, is that whatever one's fate may be—like me being in prison, you having breast cancer—, we all have the mystical capability to acclimate and reset the real or imaginary points beyond which we think we can go; whether they be happiness, distress, stability, or debility. Humans have the uncanny ability to keep going long after they think they can't. I'm a living testimony to this fact, as when I was sentenced to 17+ years ago to a "death sentence in slow motion" for a non-violent offense, there was no way I thought I could do this time. But I'm still here and with a semi-balanced sanity! :)

Julia, it's up to us to decide if we live in a world filled with "good times" or "bad times." For me, I think it is best to sustain a positive point of view while living pragmatically somewhere in between. The answer will always vary depending on the person that you ask.

Lastly, you ended with "Greetings from a Calvinist country." What did you mean by this? Please explain. If that is the religion that you believe and practice, and it works for you, then that's a wonderful thing. But as I am a Muslim in America, I believe that if we, the people, can rise above our suspicions and defensiveness, we will be able to share in the similarities and also celebrate our diversities. In this way, Julia, all of us will benefit. What do you think?

You see, we are not separate; we are one. Our seemingly different differences are unimportant because our hearts are the same. We all are seeking respect and harmony, so allow our differences to lead us into a deeper, profound and satisfying relatedness with one another; that's what I'm trying to communicate. May universal peace begin now.

Until next time, Julia, take care and be safe.

Peace,
Zakee
