Dear K.C.,
Hi, was really nice to hear from you. I do appreciate the keeping in touch. We'll be locked down this morning (it snowed last night). They don't let us outside if there is any snow on the ground. Stupid but I don't know how to fight that. I spent my day yesterday writing to 31 state representatives in my state. There is a big push for parole for lifers in my state. Pa is 1 of 6 states that do not allow parole for lifers. It's all about money in this state. I am also running for External Vie president of the Lifers Organization in here. I am running against a very popular black Muslim guy. I am definitely more qualified for the job than he is but it's like everything else, it's a popularity contest. Voting will be in about 3 weeks. I begin a computer typing class today, to learn how to use the newest Microsoft words something typing program. That will help keep me busy. Okay, I want to help you here. It's very simple. It's a way to get over on the system but it is legal. Almost all prison phone contracts has a cheap rate. You can do 1 of 2 things. You can go to a store, get a heap cell phone, one of those where you pay for minutes, you can do this with any cell phone if you want though. When they activate it, they want your zip code, this allows you to get a number in that code. Whatever the prison your friend is in, you give them that zip code. This will give you a number that is a local call. For ex. when I was at my last prison, the # was 814-386-1101 for the prison. My brother got a phone, and gave them the jails zip code, his number was 914-396, same as the jail so the calls here $1.60 for 15 min, instead of $10. You can also go to a website and sign up for their phone call service. They give you a local number which is attached to your actual number. Your friend would call the local # and it would go thru their system, be converted to your actual number and the cost is a lot less. Check it out, I used it in the past, Freedomline.com I think the site was. It's like magic jack. At that time, it cut my calls form $10 to less than $3. They charge you 5 cents per min. (75 cents for 15 min) and $2.50 per month to have that number which is local to the prison. I'm pretty sure it's freedomline.com, check it out. If I'm wrong about the site, I will let you know. They have it in the law library but I don't go again for 2 more days.
I love dogs J.C. & I am super excited to have them all there. I am trying to get more info on my cousins. My family came here in I think 1905-6. Our last name coming from Italy was PIZZICA, someone changed it between then and the next 20 years to PEZZECA, they just changed the 2 "I" to "E". So my great uncle Dean told me anyone with the last name Pezzeca is a relative. But my great uncle Tony had a son, Antonio Pizzicca & a daughter who is my age, Toni or Antonia Pizzica, but she could have married. No big deal if you can't find them. Just wanted to reach out to other family I didn't know. I have been here 19 years JC, I am telling you with all honesty, your friend T., she will need you. Be involved with her kids the best you can, tell her about them, send photos when you can and the pen pal thing she will want. To have men writing her, wanting to know her, be interested in her, it will matter, I promise you that. You don't feel human in here. I could go on & on about it but trust me on this. Every time I get an email on my tablet, my whole day is better. So anyone reading, if you'd like to talk, you can sign up to email. Go to:
www.gtl.net/padoc to read on it.
Then to sign up go to: www.connectnetwork.com
I' told it is very easy to use. I know it will hurt T's kids so much to lose their mom because of the dad not wanting them to talk to her but thats so wrong. I know it has to be killing her inside not to see, hold or speak to her babies. They don't have to be little kids to be their moms babies. If you are able to one day help change the dads mind, I know it would help. Just because she is in prison doesn't mean she is not still their mom. T. can go to court and get court ordered visitation as long as her crime was not against her children. It's not easy but it's been done. Any advice I can give, I will.
As for Alexa, I have heard of it and seen it on tv. I want my own :) Is it simple to use? Does it always have the answer to your questions? I want to discover what these things can actually od. I am back, I stopped, ran to work, I knew I had no work today, my boss has a hurt back, but I go anyway so I can stop off and play with puppies. I usually play with sarge, a 16-week old black lab. We has 10 minutes of playtime & here I am now. You used the perfect word when you mentioned puppy love, you said it's magical and it truly is. Even more so for people who haven't seen or touched a dog in 30, 40+ years. I only know about outside services because I try my best to read whatever I can get. Reading material is rare in here, mostly they have fiction novels and that's not what I want to read. I'm sure there are used book websites that sell books for very cheap. if it's within your means, sned her some books that she might want to read. Encourage her to stay busy. Take advantage of every opportunity she has to get out of her cell. I do believe she will love writing to men who seek her out from a pen pal site. Tell her a man with 19 years in, serving life, told you this. It will help humanize her, help her feel like a woman again, not just a prisoner. Trust me on this. I do moderate yoga and I stretch also. My shoulder is healing, but I hate the length of time it takes. I have a book on shoulders & it's a great book. And for T. being in lockdown for 9 months, she will need outside contact now more so then ever. Get a nice photo of her, put her on some sites. I'm sure Alexa can help you find ones that are free. There are a lot of free ones out there but I don't know them because I have no internet access. If I knew of free ones, I would be on them all. As time goes by, people forget you, they just move on with their lives. This is a way to constantly meet new people & stay relevant, make new friends. No, when we lockdown here we don't get out for anything but it's never for more than 2-3 days. T. could meet a decent man on a site, make a connection, find some happiness. It's worth it. The level of misery, broken hearts, sadness & pain in places like this is off the charts. So be there for your girl. For T. pictures of her kids would probably be the most precious & painful thing for her. But the pain is worth what she will feel inside being able to see her little monsters growing up. I call all kids monsters. My brother's daughter, Lucy, I call her my little monster. Look into the freedom line, it will save you a lot of money on phone calls. It's like the magic jack device you can put on your computer. It's gotta be hard getting a life sentence in your 40's with a family and children. If I can help in any way, please don't hesitate to ask. But for now I need to go. I have a new program I start in like 30 minutes. A business typing Microsoft class. Not sure what it exactly is but it pays me an extra 50 cents per day and I get to learn as well. So you take care of yourself & I am glad your husband ins not jealous of this, you can show him this too if you want, I will always be respectful. Thank you JC. If you can maybe check out a site, let's try, PA.gov, what I am searching for is every email for the 201 State Representatives in my state (Pennsylvania). If you can find me those, I would be very grateful. I am also looking for all 50 senators but the state reps are a priority and I am failing in getting them from anyone. So if you are able to find them for me, I'd be very grateful. Go have some fun and play with your pups. Looking forward to hearing from you again, God Bless, Ciao.
