Dear Outside World:

Please allow me to update everyone on my life inside the belly of the beast.

On January 24, 2017, I successfully completed by G.E.D. which I am very proud of. Even though it took me 34 years to get my G.E.D., it's better late than never.

I have a court hearing set for my post-conviction relief petition on May 18, 2017, and I'm looking to get my sentence reduced from 142 years to 20 years, which will leave me with about 5 years left to serve.

I've completed a "moral recognition therapy" program on how to escape your prison. Also I completed "The Streets Don't Love You Back" intervention program. Both programs were very helpful in transforming my way of thinking.

Now for those of you who may not know my story, and my struggle for justice and freedom from this belly of the beast, please allow me to share my side of what has been a bad dream with you. I came to prison in 1983 to serve a four year sentence for petty theft and, with just three months left before my release back into the free world, I was involved in a prison riot which was initiated due to the savage beating of a prisoner by racist guards. No one was killed in the riot, and I was given a 142 year sentence for my involvement in the incident. I spent 19 years in solitary confinement.

You can learn more about me and my struggle for justice and freedom by watching my documentary on MSNBC Lock Up Extended Stay/Da Future with Wasash Valley or you can google Christopher Trotter. I could use letters of support.

Strong but human,
Christopher Trotter

Hello Christopher. I read your blog posts and really enjoyed them. My name is Alyssa and I am asking a few people on the betweenthebars.org blogs some questions for my own research and was wondering if you would answer them if you felt like it. What are ways that some men deal with missing women in prison? Do you think men change not being around women? If so in what ways? How do you think this affects them when they are released? How do men deal with their "needs"? Do you think men become more reserved or dont know how to deal with a womens "touch" when released? ;) I just want to hear your input on this out of curiosity. Speak your mind. You don’t have to hold back. Nothing will offend me. Haha. I would love to maybe see a blog post about this too. Thank you. Hope to hear back soon:)

I would love to see you post more blogs often as well!
