heat wave
I am frozen in time
locked in old memories
looking for a light
where there was never light
inside my darkened cell

I fear insanity is near
standing here in the dark
standing here in flammable oils
I fear lighting a match
I fear standing alone

I wait alone for insanity
inside my darkened cell
with my arms wide open
locked deep in old memories
it's better than standing alone

The hot box in prisons have long been used to enact punishment. Here at the prison, almost all cells are considered to be hot boxes. You are in a hot box here unless you do something to end up in the Hole. They have AC there. :) The rest of the cells have temperatures over 90 degrees in the hot months. :)
