Trump VS The Secret Service
Friday
August 4, 2017

There's a lot about Trump I don't profess to understand, but heading the top of that list is how he treats the Secret Service, the very men and women tasked with protecting him.

You'd think that, as one of the most reviled men in America, he'd be doing everything in his power to make it as easy as possible for the Secret Service to protect him, but you'd be wrong. He could have made a small sacrifice and gave up one of the floors in Trump Tower to the Secret Service so they could use it to protect not only Trump but also his building, but he didn't. Instead, he chose to charge the very organization tasked with protecting him rent and then tossed them out on their ass in some sort of dispute over the lease. Now, as a result, they're sitting outside in a trailer, struggling to protect a man they're no doubt finding more and more difficult to like, let alone protect.

I'm not saying that as the President of the United States, POTUS is required to make certain sacrifices. We're not talking about someone who needs the income from this floor to survive from one month to the next. We're talking about a billionaire, someone who's making so much money that he literally donated his entire year's salary to a charitable organization (for the tax write-off, no doubt).

Either way, rich or not, you'd think that the Secret Service would have used Eminent Domain to take control of the floor(s) they needed to do their job, but they didn't. They quietly packed everything up and took it to the streets like the true professionals they are, where they sit now, working to protect a man who is becoming more and more despised with each passing day.

All it takes is a moment's hesitation, split-second delay, the amount of time it takes to blink your eyes, and your objective goes from being safe and sound to a lifeless mound of flesh lying on the sidewalk. Knowing this, I'd be doing everything in my power to ensure the people protecting me didn't have any reason to hesitate, intentionally or not. I'd do everything in my power to ensure they were close to me as possible, even if that meant clearing out an entire floor of my tower.

Then again, if I did this, I wouldn't be able to continue fleecing the American coffers the way Trump currently is.

He whines and cries about all of this money being spent to help those less fortunate, and then spends millions upon millions of dollars making the Secret Service jump through hoops to protect him, forcing them to pay for multiple locations to protect not only him but all of his properties, which just seems to me to be a monumental conflict of interest. Not the need to protect him, but the fact that he forces them to pay exorbitant fees to rent rooms and entire floors of his properties just so they can provide that protection, protection that's provided at no cost to him.
