"Life"

My eyes are closed but I can envision a life
Dreams within my grasp through darkness there's light
Never have I known love as I do this day
Natural, certain and friendly embracing all shades
It's unselfish, unconditional and not limited to restrains
Enduring each struggle without complaint
I look them in the eye and share the truth
No conflict of interest it's what I knew
I loved and survived against all odds
Many nights I cried until I couldn't stop
I've lived in fear from circumstances I'd seen
And been so nervous I'd forgot to breathe
I've kept moments of violence away from my family
Running with a Black bloodthirsty gang
Not knowing my people needed me and I
wasn't raised to run with NO BLACK BLOODTHIRSTY
ENEMIES OF YAHWEH
Knowing it would cause more harm than good to share it
But I never stopped believing that I could surely die
And that thought alone helped me go back to my roots
And it kept me alive
Life is a wonderful gift let's not forget
And we learn from things we live to regret
And we become stronger and wiser to our thoughts
And through actions and understanding we change our walk
Then dreams become reality because we pursue
And believed in ourselves and the things we do
