34 backpacks, an ongoing commemoration of Yemeni children killed on August 9, 2018. A vigil calling for an end to the US war against Yemen.
Our hearts go out to those killed and wounded and their families. The first responders, EMT workers, and hospital staff whose efforts to save and heal people also involved trying to determine the number of dead, set up blue backpacks to commemorate each child who had been killed. Unicef had issued blue backpacks to the children before they went on their outings.
