GOP candidates for governor speak out at forum
JUNEAU (AP)—The major Republican candidates for governor are sharing the stage for the first time, at the state GOP convention in Juneau.

Gov. Sean Parnell, former sate Rep. Ralph Samnels, and attorney Bill Walker are seeking to distinguish themselves before party faithful, who will help decide which candidate advances from the August primary.

Gerald Heikes, a lower-profile candidate, also addressed the forum.

Some key issues: the state of Alaska's economy, state spending and the federal health care overhaul.

Samuels, Walker and Heikes said the state already should have sued over health care. Parnell said that's an "easy bumper sticker."

The governor, who's said he believes the overhaul is unconstitutional, defended the attorney general's decision to review the plan before deciding what action, if any, the state should take.

(When you "speak out", you're speaking out against something, right?)
So who are these candidates speaking out against?

They couldn't have just said "Candidates speak at forum".

Do candidates "speak out" where you live, or do they just speak (or debate)?
