Dear Erica,
Thank you for transcribing my post, and I appreciate your kind words.

As a child, I didn't think my childhood was bad. It was until I matured that I realized the wrong in it. Of course, it's not excuse for my actions as an adult, but it is something to reflect on and learn from.

It isn't as much about the abuse I went through as it being about these were the adults I was learning from. They weren't teaching me how to succeed in life. Not even how to be a good person.

Children that grow up in these kind of environments aren't just being abused as children. These adults are raising them to fail. Saving those children by putting them in better homes is progress, but it's slow progress. If the parenting changes... now that would be some much quicker progress.

I don't have the answer on how to fix this, but there is direction.

Fix the parents and the children won't have to be saved.
