Dear Reader,
Hey, I hope you're doing well! I was telling you about my new friends.

After that night, I sank deeper and deeper into criminal activity, telling myself I was just going to save up enough money to get situated and then I'd get out. That would have been simple enough.

If I didn't come to like these individuals and become friends with them.

I became a part of their world, or one could say their world became mine. Because of the way I grew up, I learned to fit in, in different communities. Take on a similar personality so I would be liked and welcomed in that community. I did so as if it was natural for me to do so. In truth, it is.

And for the new crew I found myself with, I was going to hone this feature of mine and climb the ranks quickly. And I did.

It came with a downfall though. The people who'd been around longer didn't like that so much trust had been put into me by the head of this crew. Two people in particular. One of them texted me. At least looking back I think it was a text. But at the time... it was a messed up situation.

One of the ladies who I met that first day (we'll call her Audry—not her real name) took me to a client's home. A very influential client with immediate ties to a prominent all American family. The kind of family that's in the history books.

Well, it turned out it was just a social cal. We discussed business matters and moved on to other topics. Cocaine was pulled out, and I declined. It was tempting, but so far I'd remained drug free.

About 20 minute go by, and I notice this guy is nervous. He goes to the bathroom and Audry tells me he thinks I'm an undercover dick because I refused the cocaine. I could understand this. He did chop a chunk off a kilo right in front of me. Because he was nervous, clients at this level are prone to back out at times. Like this...

So, yup, I snorted cocaine with them. Stupid decision.

We partied for a bit then and then Audry gets serious. She tells the client that our head is planning on robbing him...!

WHAT!

I couldn't believe what I just heard. She is snitching on our boss! And on whoever else in our crew that's involved. I didn't know about this, but it didn't matter. She crossed a line that shouldn't be crossed. A gun line.

After the night ended, we went home. I went and talked to the big guy and let him know about the betrayal. He didn't know me well enough to take my word as is in a situation like this. So, he confronted her head on. In front of the whole crew. She denied it. He called the client and got a feel on where his mind was at. And determined I was telling the truth. He went to think about how to handle our next move.

Audry snapped. Started cussing my tail out. I told her it's simple. You snitched. So, you can't be trusted. And so, she flew across the living room and swung wild. I grabbed her wrist. She kicked, I stepped on her feet. She was restrained. She calmed, at least I thought so.

So, I let her go and she clawed the flesh off my face. Two bloody lines coming down from each corner of my left eye. I held her again. Eventually it was over.

Boss man decided she knew too much to kick her to the curb. So, he kept her in. A he move would later regret...

Until next time.

Yours truly,
Doug
