Poem
trial and error is required
downtime is not as good
as we would like it to be
yes sometimes it is joyful
then sometimes it is sad
bring pain to our hearts
with tears to our eyes
downtime brings yesterday's memories
back into play
like the thought of Mama's '49 Studebaker
full of us kids
on a 41 Chevy pick up
my brother James beside me
downtime is for catching up
doing things like cleaning the cell
writing a letter to my love
working on some card
painting an old picture
from the contour of my mind
downtime is for old rock and roll
playing in the back alleys
of our shared youth
daydreaming of all the things
that have already happened
writing new outcomes for our stories
