my days begin
between four walls
pouring myself
through steel bars
there is a fog
surrounding me
no sunshine on Mondays
I point myself
toward downtown
feeling my feet walking
on city sidewalks
I cut through an alley
if I could have slept
one more minute
I would be home
the fog is thick today
