my thanks for your reply to my blog post: Tx D/Row lives in Squallor.
I'm very appreciative of your views, insights as well as approach
in your Biblical stance. Spot on I SAY!
Grass-roots comes by changing one mind, being one voice, as it
all matters in the bigger picture. I happen to really resonate
with Roger Waters's song "It's all just a brick in the wall"!
We have just received a new warden here, He seems to be attempting
to clean things up. hard to tell with the coronavirus going rampant
across tx & its prison system.
The guards began wearing face masks Monday! 4/6/20 as its obviously
making its way into the system. as much denial as they put out
only tells us, veterans, it's the opposite.
Conversely - the men who have mild symptoms are being ignored!
We have tried in vain for 3 days to get my friend taken to medical.
he has cold-like symptoms, feels weak, low on energy, has stopped
eating or taking his insulin shots. Today I asked the nurse to
check on him as I was at the window on the outside recreation
yard. she went to his cell spoke to him for 45 seconds then left.
Nothing has been done. 2 hours later he has not gone to see medical.
shame on them! UTMB is the worst to deal with.
In 2010 I spent my whole defense fund to sue for a hernia repair
operation I should have got without having to exhaust my resources!
just one example of many events of prisoner neglect in Tx.
Indeed the numbers do not lie!
I compliment you on your idea - a social awareness action, online
petition would possibly get some attention!
We have written letters, filed grievances, even had an anti-DP activist
jump into action.
I remain repressed in solidarity for the cause.
