At night
after the dark
takes over
I escape
from my window to count the stars
hiding from the moon
and its reflection
of the sun
I fear the dawn
on summer morning
losing all the secrets
stashed between us
listening to the neighbor's dog
barking at the grass
memories flowing
like running water
off the mountain
lying in the field
our names are mysteries
we still believe in
