Wait For Me!

W A I T F O R M E!

deep from behind the iron curtains
you waited for my return
from the abyss and biles of prison
you pleaded for visiting approval
and waited patiently for calls and letters
that seldom came

you dedicated and put your life on hold
you sacrificed your all
you waited _alone_ when those
who used to wait grew tired of waiting
you kept faith and you believed in me

you waited in the midst of
so much despair when others
had long forgotten
believing it was _useless_ and
_pointless_ to wait

you _saved_ me and how I survived
will be known only to you and me
you simply knew how to _love_
and how to _wait_
like no other could

you trusted and you trusted well
you waiting and you waited well
and against all odds

I SHALL RETURN!
