Texas denies charity to the row

Greetings to all, Christmas blessings & best wishes for a happy new year 2023. It's a sad day on TX Death row. We learned today we will not get the movies/tv or games on our tablets, per Texas dept. criminal justice ID division - policy. It's also come to our attention today we will not get our yearly Christmas gift from the salvation army. $25 dollars.
Some of the poor souls here have nothing and needed that to make a holiday store. As we sit here on lock down reflecting upon the time of year and reason for the season - we try to understand the justification to punish us, when we are deemed judged and set to be executed. Our punishment is just that, one event that makes us even with the house. The ultimate price.
In Texas Law we are deemed unrehabitateable. So why punish us further? It is a sign of the times we live in. Pray for those who made these decisions, that they have a change of heart.

Christmas greetings to you!

Most of you know that for many years, The Salvation Army has provided a monetary gift at Christmastime to every person on Texas Death Row. A few weeks ago, as we prepared our annual gift to each of you, we received information from TDCJ that our charitable donation could not be accepted on your behalf.

Due to changes in the TDCJ policy, we are no longer able to provide money for posting to your individual trust accounts. As per the change in policy, only persons listed on your visitation or telephone list will be able to post money to your account.

We are saddened by the decision especially because we understand that even a small gift can mean a lot to you. While we can't give you the monetary Christmas gift like we have done in the past, please know that we still care for you. And most of all, the LORD cares for you. Ultimately, His gift is the most important one of all which can always be accepted by you no matter what the world says or policy states.

"But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life." (Titus 3:4-7 NKJV) "But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." (John 1:12 NKJV)

We hope that you will set aside some time to reflect on the greatest gift anyone could ever receive. May the days leading up to Christmas and the many days of your life which follow be filled with gratitude to God for His gift to us.

Merry Christmas to you!
