"When New Prison Administrations Promise....

Dear Collin,

It is good to hear from you, and I am very proud of everything you have accomplished. You can always write to me directly, just type in any search engine "SCDC Inmate search" and they have a web site that shows prisoners by name and number. Mine is 323863 or just use my name. The reason I say that site, which is:

https://public.doc.state.sc.us/scdc-public/

Where a prisoner is one day, could be different the next. So it's good to double check the location before sending a letter. Right now I am at:

Johnny Mahaffey
BRCI - 323863
4460 Broad River Rd.
Columbia, SC 29210-4012

We also have tablets and an online message system with limited internet we get through WiFi they provide. A monitored system, obviously, but it's still a big step. You can write, and I can send you into to set it up, I have money so it's not going to cost you anything.

I have had more books come out recently if you hadn't seen. I have about 100 novels and text books I did over the years that are now in the hands of an editor up north typesetting them and getting them into publication. My plan had been to finish them all before publishing, in case anyone tried to stop it -- it's too late -- the manuscripts are typed and already mailed out, now every few weeks one will pop on the market everywhere books are sold. Books like "Anger Is Not a Four Letter Word: A Guide to Using Your Anger Instead of Suppressing It," and a more recent, "From Custody to Community: A Skills-Based Reentry Guide."

A lot of Sci-fi and physics stuff also.

Would your own book publishing imprint be something you'd want? I know an editor who is retiring, maybe I can get that and you could publish books like he was. I don't think he made a lot of money, just liked literature and the process.

I hope to hear from you. I love you son, always. And again, I am proud of you.

Love
Dad
